My name is Philip Perold and I am a hobbyist landscape photographer. I live in the Western Cape, South Africa. I bought my first DSLR camera in December 2008. Little did I know how addictive the hobby would become for me.

From there my love and appreciation for beauty in nature and divine light grew exponentially. It is like photography opened my eyes for the first time. I see and appreciate aspects of nature that would normally have gone by unnoticed.

I studied electronic engineering, and I am currently working as a software developer. It is thus not much of a surprise that I enjoy the technical side of photography immensely as well. I enjoy the entire process, from the actual capturing of the shot to the post-processing. I am also a sucker for the equipment (the inner geek takes over).
